Wor Plats - there are dozens and dozens of good places at every turn in the warrens in the centre. So many that it's slightly overwhelming. It's also not always that easy to see what places are called as you're upon them before you realise.
Here's some of what I can recall:
Los Gatos - good boozer with good tapas on Plaza de Uncibay
Bar Ortega - ace little boozer just off the main road that runs along the aqueduct (on the town side of the bridge).
El Gallo, Pepa y Pepe and Pinxto Larios in the centre were all pretty good. Obispo (right by the cathedral in a square) was also sound.
There's a place on the very edge of the central warrens (as you enter on the aqueduct side) which was sensational. Think it was called La Mura, but can't find it online. Will check and let you know.
If you've good weather, then there are some really good rooftop bars. La Terraza de Alcazabar and the Alcazabar Premium Hostel are ace. Quite nearby each other, on Calle Alcazabilla.
There's a taberna called Uvedoble near there too, which is top.
If you are looking for a bar to watch football in and you happen on a place with a big Paulaner sign out the front, then go there. No idea what it was called, but it was sound.
There are so many boozers, you literally cannot go wrong.
