This is Tanner, I will keep it as short as I can.... A while ago my wife and I took a real interest in the young MoM that was on the site and requested through proper channels to contact the MoM. We were granted permission after she was told who we were and we began a relationship w/her & her son. This young woman is not only the sole caretaker, & provider of this sick child but also a Veteran. We have been privilaged to get to know them & have not only financially assisted them but also helped her with her recent diagnosis of malignant breast cancer. Also she just had her lumpectomy last Wednesday. She is doing well, as soon as she heals she will start he radiation treatments... we hope to possibly put something up on the NLF site to see if she could have her wish to take her son to see Disney World, though she knows he won't remember too much she just wants him to have some kind of fun instead of all the surgeries he's had which to date are 43 and counting... She has no family to speak for, absolutely isolated because she leads a very burdened life and is totally dedicated to her son and his well being and comfort. Please if you have the chance read her story, its partially on the Nicholas Legacy Fund site. Her son is entirely dependent on his mother and not only has CP, but hydra-cephalitis , is blind in one eye, leagally blind in the other,totally deaf in one ear, is only 39" long and weighs 49lb's. The mom is very ill right now and very discouraged & disappointeed that she was not going to be assited by The Nicholas Legacy Fund. Though By no fault of NLF, still and all she was hurt that someone could do this. SHE HAS NO SELFISH NEEDS FOR HERSELF, BUT FOR ITEMS THAT WILL GIVE HER SON COMFORT, SHE DOES NOT LIVE OFF OF THE government. she cleans houses whenever she can to assist her with bills. She needs help, she has had a dead beat dad since the Jonathan was born....The part of the JUMP RK was going to do was named "THE JUMP for JONATHAN" We have three of our own children thankfully they are healthy. My anger stems from the lack of disregard that BIG SKY PROMOTIONS has shown. Some might say RK is an adult but we all know he has his issues. I was there for the 1st anual fund raiser last year and everything went smoothly under the old management team. We were told the evening before at the pre-jump party He did his best to maintain himself though we were told that he was drunk beyond belief.
The next DAY HE WAS A SHINING STAR, NOT ONE HAD ANYTHING BAD TO SAY, HE TURNED NOT ONE PERSON AWAY AND WAS WONDERFUL. I can attest to that. I'm afraid that tempers can flare & you can hopefully understand why we are angry. If RK's camp ever took the time to realize that this situation is going on I truly doubt that Rk would allow this to happen. I hope that he finds it in his heart to do something for this mother who was truly relying on assistance not for herself but for her son. Thank you for understanding our passion and if you'd like to help we can direct you as to how we can come up with a special gift for them this holiday season. Last year a few contributers were generous to her by gifting her with items for her son, this year we would like to do something real special for them.... TY Tanner
