Wade; I have to tell as a person who gave money and time to the organization that was holding and paying for the event, opened their books to me (to any person who asks) and I can tell you first hand, I have seen that this foundation put up 95% of the money for this event. 10K in two payments of 5k to Big Sky Promotion. 22k in another payment. It was at that point Wade, that the foundation was directed by the lawyer and CPA to request a Tax ID number. At that very pivotal point, Big Sky provided a dead number (twice). I am in business as well, corporate actually, and I can tell you that providing a fake or dead or stolen number is a No-No. I have read through all of the non profit foundations receipts, which are actual receipts and not copies, shows that they themselves put out some 52k in total for the event. Furthermore, I happen to know that knievel himself believes he was only paid 10k by the foundation, not the actual 32k. Believe me when I tell you, I do know a number of people in the Knievel Camp and former members of the Knievel Camp, all candidly express the underhandedness of Jeff of Big Sky Promotions. Knievel allowed Jeff to speak for him, represent him-Jeff tried to extort an extra 10k from this 2ND year foundation, trying to make the price tag 100K The foundation’s first event (I was also there) was great! I so the books to that as well, and it was very expensive. For Knievel to show and do a signing, and motorcycle run shows a cost of 17k. Knievel was represented by his other manager Bart, from what the foundation people tell me and from what I could gather myself from having met Bart at the event, he is a solid person. The 2ND event was doomed from moment one when Big Sky got involved, paper trail shows that, and you are correct Wade, someone smelt money, that was Jeff at Big Sky. He has yet to return the 32k nor had he ever attempted to work out the contract in finalized terms.
I am told that the non-profit foundation (The Nicholas Legacy Fund, Inc.) will be listing all payouts and costs for that event on their web site, even as far as showing the actual receipts. A terrible miss justice has occurred to those who tried to help others in need.
