I had the opportunity to use the Disencrustation with galv in school - it works amazingly because of the chemistry, I believe the chemical reaction is saponification. Yes, you can do the baking soda mix, but the actual Sol'n from Eva's is so much more pleasant to use! Also, the hamamelis (sp?) is a great finisher for post extraction. Good luck! Kudos to you for taking the time on the boy-child - they can be your most loyal!
