I'm in esthetician school, and we watched all of your videos (which I loved by the way, loved that you added bloopers at the end!)I've worked with hard wax on myself and my friends for years, the videos definitely enhanced my knowledge and gave me good tips and tricks I didn't know about.
So on to my questions and concerns:
The hard wax we use in our clinic is heated way too hot. It drips off the applicators. I've mentioned this to my instructor before, in a nice way, and she says it's okay, as long as the "middle is harder". The wax is separating- streaks of color when it is applied. She has to apply almost 3 layers, even then it is not the nickel-size thickness it is supposed to be, and it seems to me that we are doing the skin a disservice, whether it be just us students or the people who come in to our clinic.
I think my question is more about how to let her know these things without getting backtalk or that "it's okay for it to be like that" because I know it is not. I don't believe she has much experience with hard wax, she prefers the roll-on with her own clientele. I've tried to be respectful about it, but I've gotten to the point where I just will not use that hard wax, some of us bring our own wax and wax pots in because of this issue.
Thanks for any help you can give. I hope to be able to go to one of the trade shows this year.
