I do not beleive the two light colors cause this. I would want some hard scientific evidence of this. It is not that light doesn't breakthings down, slowly eventually, but the sun has blue and red rays and you don't see the ocean turning to a vat of soap (saponification) See also the post below about current and penetration.
Find that article I would love to read and dispute it or test the hypothesis.
