Yes, UVA ages and UVB burns that is what we learn. Who wants to burn? If you minimize exposure UVB is better. UVA does more long term damage then just aging. UVA browns but doesn't burn. At what cost?
Tanners think they are doing less damage because they get a deep brown with out a burn when in fact, they are doing more harm then a burn.
The longer the bed time--the higher the percentage of UVA.
The lesser evil? UVB, at a very short term. If some one is super pale (burns never tans) they are not going to get a good "base tan" for vacation.
