go to your local chamber events, find any marketing groups like LaTip, BNI, TNI whatever - go as a guest check things out! pass out your business cards everywhere you go including drive thru. My local starbucks knows me so well that a few weeks ago I went thru and a gal stuck her head out and asked if I had any coupons or menus for a facial! so I gave her both.
If you go shopping hand it to your clerk.
This is all free stuff Im talking about.get to know your neighbors where you are located - they will help you. find out if there are local events and participate in them it really does help!
