Posted by David Dwiggins on 10/4/2003, 10:38 pm, in reply to "Hi Everyone:)" Good to hear from you! I'm still working at the paper in Nashville, and I'm always trying to convince people to come visit. If your drive back to DC takes you in this direction, feel free to stop by! (And I know you weren't soliciting for a free place to stay, but I have a futon you're welcome to use...) I've actually done the drive from Texas... A few years ago I took a trip with a friend. Our plan was to do New Orleans, Houston, and Dallas, then head back to Nashville. But the transmission in my car keeled over about 30 miles from Arkidelphia, Ark. I got to know Larky the backwoods auto mechanic very well. (He only works for cash, and you have to travel miles of dirt roads and a sagging bridge to find his shop.) Not the best experience, but definitely a memorable trip! -David --Previous Message--

Hi, Amanda,
davedwig[at]hotmail.com
: First I want to thank Dwig for the
: fabulous job he's done with this
: website. I am thankful we have him
: keeping us together electronically
: Monica Lin told me about the site, so
: I thought I'd drop by and say hello.
: I posted what has been going on with
: me under my name--but the basic
: lowdown is I finished college, worked
: some, went to some more school, met a
: guy, moved to Texas, and got married
: this past March.
: My husband's name is Michael and I
: also now have a rambunctious, but
: usually sweet, 10-year-old stepson
: named Devin. I'm trying to enjoy
: these years before he becomes a
: teenager and hates me
: I stil haven't finished moving my
: stuff down, and am planning to drive
: to Maryland in October. If anyone
: would like to get together, please
: let me know
I'd love to see some
: old friends. Also, if anyone who
: doesn't live in Maryland, but lives
: on the way there from Houston, and
: would like to see me, let me know and
: maybe we can stop by. (No, I'm not
: trying to get a free place to stay, I
: just want to see old friends).
: Well, I've said a lot, so I will stop
: now. But I miss Maryland soooo much.
: This site reminds me of home and I
: appreciate it.
: Amanda
: p.s. Did anyone else wind up in the
: great lonestar state of Texas?
