:Eleanor Roosevelt was the wife if President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. One of his projects was to design affordable neighborhoods that the common man could live in - Greenbelt, the city the school is in, is one of these cities. Hence, the school is named after his wife - she had many humanitarian accomplishments of her own as well.
