Actually, this is not really an update from Novosibirsk, because I'm now back in the U.S. But I have been in contact with the coordinator of the American Studies Center, and the renovation work has been completed! Most of the books have arrived in Novosibirsk. The only change of plans has been that rather than have the official opening in June as soon as the renovation was finished, we have decided to wait until September, when the students will be back on campus for the start of the semester. But the center will be in operation before that, and available for university staff to use.
