My father, Wilfred Neil Entwistle was born in Blackburn on 18th July 1911. He was always known as Neil to distinguish him from his father who was also called Wilfred. I'm not sure where my grandfather was born but I know he lived in Blackburn for most of his adult life and that he owned a tripe shop. I never knew my grandfather but I knew and loved his only sister, Jessie.
Jessie never married but she looked after my father when his own mother died and she was more than a grandmother to me but I know very little about her.
I do know she worked in a cotton mill until she retired but I don't know the name of the mill. I also know that she lived in Pringle Street, Blackburn, until she died but I'm not sure which year she died. I think it might have been 1956 but that could be wrong.
