My father Frank Jepson from Darwen used to have his summer holidays at the Ship Inn Freckleton as a boy in the 1920's. He always remembered with affection his great uncle Sam Entwisle who owned the Ship Inn,and his great Aunt Sarah Entwisle who lived there as well.Sarah's father was my great great grandfather John Entwisle of Darwen and he was born at Dangerous Corner, a row of houses which were on the old Roman Road just outside Darwen in 1840. I wondered about a possible Scottish connection because I have old photos of my great grandmother Margaret Alice Entwisle wearing tartan on her coat plus my grandfather(her son) wearing a tartan sash as a baby. I would love to hear from you & any further information you may have. - Regards Carol Speakman.
