Posted by oliver Anyhow, i'm not interested in any folklaw but i would love to hear if Isaac and the family can be traced back any further. Jeez, this family history stuff can get quite addictive! For your information, the legend that runs in our family is as such. William the conqueror 1066 apparantly divided England to his men. One of them, his name pronounced 'De Entwistle' rather than spelt like that was given part of the North and it was known as (or rather pronounced as 'Entwistle' tho the spelling has changed throughout the years. Aparantly it later became Lancashire, and the village of Entwistle still exists, not far from Bury near Turton - 'Turton towers' or the family home of the Entwistles. The legend goes on that the estate and money they left is in Chancery and known as the Entwistle millions, and from time-to-time some descendant decides to put in a claim. Is any of this for real? Oli
