Hi, this is my first post - so thank you for the opportunity, I hope I'm not too presumptuous to offer a thought. My experience with the idea of integrating is that it helps me have a choice. I've learned that suppressed feelings unconciously control me. By looking at/feeling/integrating uncomfortable stuff, I seem to be more able to make a 'rational' choice. If I'm willing to think things through, I can decide it's not always about getting what I think I want (often I might get what I strived for only to feel guilt or some other negative feeling anyway), but rather seeing all for what it is and choosing best. This seems to help get me to a place of being in the moment and enjoying the process.
: : I think the real trick to these
: advanced methods of dealing with
: emotions is finding a way to apply
: them consistently, as a practice..I
: know that's my challenge It's so
: easy to look for a quick fix or to
: wait until I'm at rock bottom to
: really take action. My challenge is
: to do a little something every day
: to clear the accumlation of mucky
: reactions. I've been trying to spend
: early mornings in meditation and
: prayer and when I'm able to do that
: in earnest, there are usually
: cumulative (positive) results
