Debbie, what an amazing response - I do wish you all the best with the adoption.
It is now 21 years since I first entered Guys with my heart baby- his main condition was transposition of the great arteries. He sadly died after his third major surgery.
Yes, you learn to live with it - you carry on and keep incredibly busy the whole time.
My William would now be a young man of 21, but of course he is still my beautiful curly -haired little angel of four and a half - the age we sadly lost him.
I resumed my career of Primary School Teacher, and this week my worst nightmare occurred - one of our pupils with a heart condition lost his life.
My thoughts are with all who have lost their children - but the love lives on forever.
