I know this section of the website has been set up recently and I've looked a number of times and nobody has been brave enough to post. So I thought I'd try and get the ball rolling and put something on here.
I lost my daughter Eva to Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome on 25th Aug 2008. She was just a week old when she died and survived only 24 hours post surgery (Norwood Stage I). The week we had with her was wonderful, she was very well after she was born and the staff on PICU at the Evelina were amazing. They encouraged us to do as much as possible to care for our little girl and we have a lovely video we made with the nurse of Eva's first bath. Its something we treasure and watch regularly. The last 4 1/2 months have been really difficult for my partner Patrick and I, we miss our beautiful little girl terribly.
I know that sadly there are many other people out there who have suffered the devestating loss of a child and I hope that we can offer each other some support and understanding on this difficult road.
Best wishes
Jo
