rat tail radishes

There are actually some kinds of radishes that are bred to not
produce bulbs. They're grown for the tender, green, slightly pungent seed pods. They're pretty, too. If you do a web search for 'rat tail radishes' you'll get some nice pictures of them. Here's one link that describes them nicely and has some suggestions for how to prepare them. I eat them raw in salads or as a snack or sometimes lightly sauteed with other veggies. I first learned about them because I met a man who was selling them in a farmers market in late summer, and I didn't know what they were. http://kgi.org/rat-tailed-radish
