Oncs/Docs are all so different. Some are overly cautious and some are the opposite! My Onc and surgeon urged me to begin an exercise program with weights as soon after rads as possible. I joined a local gym and started slowly (with a trainer) and progressed to lifting and doing exercises with my affected arm as much the unaffected arm. My Lymphedema specialist told me to begin using that arm slowly and get back to using it just like the other arm. The only permanent caution was to baby it as far as cuts/burns, etc. and to never wear tight jewelry or clothing on that arm.
I'm above to move and can't wait to begin gardening again!
