Looks like BPA will still lurk in our hard plastic bottles and food can liners. The Natural Resources Defense Council circulated a petition and finally pursued a lawsuit asking the FDA to ban it. But the FDA has refused.
BPA has been linked to higher rates of breast and prostate cancer, insulin resistance, and neurological damage. So the FDA allows it. Go figure. I have to ask the question, who is the FDA looking out for? Not the public, apparently.
Pardon my morning rant. This kind of thing makes me furious. FDA says 'there are still some questions.' Yeah, OK, keep feeding people poison while the 'questions' get 'more study.'
