Suzy, I really liked your post. It sounds so much like my experience. I had never been to a gym before I joined this one. I'm seriously non-athletic, and was a bit self-conscious about my flat chest (bilat mastectomy, no recon) and weak muscles. I got bronchitis right after joining and it lasted such a long time, I could barely do anything (10 minutes on a treadmill made me spend the rest of the day in bed). But now, like you, I go regularly. As I gain strength and endurance, it makes me feel really good about myself. I like the sense of accomplishment, however small that was at first. And I began to notice that I had fewer depressed days, and more energy in general. It didn't happen instantly. It sort of crept up on me.
