Enjoy your walking on the treadmill. You're lucky to have one in your building. Yes, start slow, let your body (joints, muscles, tendons) warm up and get used to it, then over time, work your way up. I'm at the point when it drives me crazy if I can't get my daily walk, either outdoors or on a treadmill. I love how it makes me feel.
