I take 200 mcg of selenium/day. I did a term paper on selenium's health benefits waaaay back a long time ago, and have taken it ever since.
Amazing story about your husband's aunt. How much IP6 did she take, and how long did it take to see the results?
I wish all doctors were as open-minded as Dr. Oz. He has outstanding medical credentials so it's hard for the medical establishment to dismiss him as a quack. I wonder what other doctors think of him. Do they resent when patients come in and say "I heard about this on Dr. Oz"? Or does it force them to do a little research on some of these things and take a more open position? I guess it depends on their personalities.
Even if Dr. Oz gets a little wacky at times, I think he does a great service in educating people about their bodies and keeping us from being so squeamish about natural body processes. He allows us to talk openly about hush-hush things. And he brings greater awareness of supplements and healthy foods----making them seem more acceptable and mainstream.
