Hi Penny,
It is so hard to see our mothers ( and fathers)give way to the many "side effects" of aging. As "fixers" we want to make it easier for them....but many times we can't. When my mother was in her final decline in her mid nineties the hospice nurse gently told me.."it is okay to just be her daughter". Great advice since I had wanted to be her nurse and daughter. My daughter was a wonderful burst of sunshine for my mother when she "dug" up some old slides of Mother's home in Ireland and relatives and friends. She found a slide projector ...turned on some Irish music and clicked away with the slides. It was a wonderful moment...mom was with us for many moments..talking, laughing and even a few tears. She had her memories awakened.
My prayers are for you and your Mother. Take good healing care of yourself Carrie...for your Mom. Enjoy your garden clean up tasks and "readying" for the Spring to come.
Special blessings to you,
Peg
