Peg, it's so sweet of you to ask. My mom has been a little more cheerful lately, and that has helped me cope, too. A very kind friend has taken it upon herself to visit my mother every week and that has made my mom feel more connected to the world. I'm so grateful. But when I look at my mom, she's so tiny and frail, I worry a lot.
I'm doing well----still working hard in the garden to finish the harvest. Thank you for asking. I count my blessings every day, as I look around and see so many people suffering hardship. On the local news last night, there was a story about a local woman with stage 4 ovarian cancer, in chemo. Her husband lost his job and they had no insurance, so at age 39 he joined the army for 4 years, just for the insurance to pay for her chemo. That sort of thing shouldn't have to happen in this country. It breaks your heart to see it. It was no fault of their own---it could happen to any of us. I'm sure you hear a lot of sad stories where you work, too.
Blessings to you for your kindness to others.
