Doing OK here, thanks. Very sorry to hear that your area has been hit hard with flu. I hope most people are recovering quickly.
I think any health care worker who wants the swine flu shot should be able to get it, but on the other hand, it shouldn't be forced on them. Choice is a good thing. Do take good care of yourself and try to get enough rest. You know how important that is for our immune systems. (Easier said than done for you, I know.) We want you to stay well!
One website I like is Google flu trends, http://www.google.org/flutrends/
You can click on the U.S. and then click on any state to see how much flu is going around in that state.
Here's part of my original post about swine flu:
I've been reading a lot lately about how Vitamin D is effective against flu, so I had my levels tested and I've stashed some away so I have plenty in case stores start running out of things during a severe pandemic. Also black currants, cranberries, green and black tea, quercetin, pomegranate, turmeric, black pepper, raw crushed garlic, red palm oil, Vitamin E, Astragalus root, Cat's Claw, and coconut oil could be effective swine flu fighters, as well as medicinal mushrooms and Vitamin C. It's just my opinion; I'm not a doctor.
For this particular kind of flu, it may be a good idea to avoid olive oil, fish oil, echinacea, elderberry, and chocolate during the infection period (not prior to infection), because they increase the body's production of substances called cytokines that could make this particular kind of flu worse. It was excessive cytokines that caused many deaths during the 1918 pandemic.
Hang in there and try to take good care of yourself!
