i just learned my 3 year old daughter has HCM - hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. this is the disease you hear of young athletes dying from cardiac arrest - of course in them undiagnosed. you know high school football player colapses dead on the field.. this is the disease.
just found out. i have an appointment at childrens memorial on nov 6th. she will prob have to have a cardiac MR. i am freaking out - she is ONLY 3!!!
her holter monitor she wore for 24 hrs was fine, thank goodness.
but they are talking beta blockers because of the obstruction. still mild -- will find out more this tues when my husband goes to a cardiac doc to get checked -- it is sometimes hereditary and he has some symptoms.
in shock and fear.
