300PSI CHrome valves

i just recieved my 300psi easystreet valves. BUT! im upgrading from 1/2"150psi valves with 1/2" line. Why is it the these valves i recieved(part#24300)have such a larger opening. Am i supost to run a reducer? The opening is 3/4". My old valves are 1/2". Get what im saying. So my questions are: am i supost to run the existing 1/2" line and use a reducer? Because in my mind 1/2" line is not going to make a difference. PLEAAAAAAASE HELP ME OUT!
