1---part. number ...ohh not a problem, can recast a part number right Into it just like oem.. Plus who is checking part numbers and verifying that they are legit- I don't go along with Rick calling forrester's to see If a head is legal on a tractor that they built, and same for any ih or jd calling their builder to ask..
2----size.... Yes they make tall recasts and also ones that are the same dimensions as oem, I really think need to keep it limited to a short head, the 1/2" could get stretched out and they could be a big advantage over stock dim head ... But then like fellow puller said you got tech guy over there w/tape measure saying ohh its close...
3---- water ports and jackets,... Yes they can be milled into a recast head just deep enough to smear hard block in it and make it look like a oem head hard blocked....
4--- hence why USA east is proposing allowing recast heads, because they are already out there and they don't want to try to police it, maybe If you took manifolds off and really looked ou could tell but are they going to go that far no, and same goes with all other organizations around here, lucky if they check air shutoff and weights... Recasts are just soo much more durable expensive yes, but buy one and you still have something in 5 years not a cracked up oem head that is good for scrap pile. They just need to keep it to oem dimensions and measure tallest part of head, and these measurements need to be posted for each brand tractor, not call a builder and ask if its ok... Any ideas how many diff part numbers and head differances there is out there with all the ag heads, truck, big block, small block, genisis, ect? Be a couple pages of part numbers for all the differant brands.
