College involvment in club competitions proves that all this talk of player burn-out is just empty words, winning cups and medals is what its all about.
In the end county finals will become a battle between colleges and super clubs.
Croke park want the colleges involved, and club interests are only a secondary consideration. Its all about high profile players, not the majority of ordinary guys who just want to represent their club to the best of their ability. The international rules trip will probably be in october when most county finals take place, they know this and yet resurecting a tv spectacle is going to take precedence. In the end some county will end up with no club representitive in the provincial championships, because they are waiting for games to be played.
