Bastick getting sent off yet again is actually a failure of management. Obviously Bastick is primarily responsible for his actions. However management should not have him on the panel knowing his attitude problems. This sending off could happen during a Leinster or All Ireland final. Kerry have set the standard to which other teams will have to reach and it won’t be with fourteen men. O’Mahony getting sent off last week along with Bastick this week suggests to me that discipline is not an important issue with Paul Caffery and his selectors. It’s confirmation for me that although we have the panel to win the All Ireland this year we will lose it on the sideline by the decisions or indecisions of Paul Caffrey and his selectors.
