My thanks to Pat the Verse for that information about the late Mick Holden RIP. I hadn’t seen him in person since he was a young man in his twenties. As a result in my memory he will always be a young easygoing character with flowing blonde hair. In fact one of my most vivid memories of him was lifting Barney Rock off the ground during a match giving him a smack on the backside and telling him to get on with the game and not to be looking for a free. May he rest in peace.
