Posted by Pat the Verse His funeral was the biggest Dún Laoghaire's has seen for many a long year. St. Michael's church was packed, standing room only. The streets were bolcked off to allow the cortege wind its way out to Shanganagh cemetery in Shankill. In a very nice touch, all assembled sang 'Dublin in the Rare Old Times' at the graveside. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

It was heart that gave out apparently. He was warned to give up the smokes about a year back, and I think he was off them for about six months. He ran a building maintenance company in Dún Laoghaire, and he collapsed there during the week.
