Poor Ray, had he scored the goal, he'd be a hero! Our major problems are at the back. Yet again we were porous and leaked scores. Even our usually reliable keeper made one classic gaffe. What was Cluxton thinking?
Too many things had to go right for us to win today.....too many things went wrong. Mark Vaughan had a poor game, didn't really compete after missing his first easy free. We held our own at midfield for a lot of the game, but could have brought on Darren Magee at least ten minutes earlier. Frankly, I wouldn't have brought Cossie on at all either, Johnny Magee could have strengthened up our half back line and we could have pushed Cullen up into the forwards.
When all is said and done, we had the chances & didn't take them, Kerry did, Good luck to them against Cork, where they'll face a more formidable half back and full back line.
I worry that there may be quite a few retirements after this one. Its likely Jayo, Wheelo and possibly Ryaner might consider hanging up their boots, Cossie probably will this time.
Should Pillar be given another go? Maybe. A![]()
new manager might make wholesale changes, and set us back a year or two. On the other hand this present management seems very slow to make changes during a game. Still there's always next year, 'Come on the Dubs'!!!
