My friend's husband got smooshed by horses & suffered blunt liver trauma & has been given 1 year to live w/o a liver segment transplant. My incredibly brave 15 yr. old daughter wants to be blood typed & tissue typed to see if she could possibly help him. (She has read pages and pages of donor process, actual surgery procedure (rib spreaders) and long recovery periods). WHAT is the first tiny step to get blood typed ... our doctor?
Also - are there any organ donor chat rooms that I could join and get real time feedback? Thank you in advance!
