Posted by Janet John you are right, I have not met a recipient yet that was not grateful for the second chance at life. And I have yet to meet one that didn't say thank you to me, even though I was not thier donor family. It doesn't matter to them, they just want to say thank you....and to let donor family members know that they are appreciated in so many ways. Lynne, I would try writing to them, and tell them about your wonderful son. It will make a real difference to you, just knowing that they know something about their donor, even if you do not want to meet. It takes time to decided what is right for you. Getting a letter back from them may give you the answer you are searching for. But remember the lines of communication are still hard between donor families and recipients, and there are so many letters that never make it through all of the red tape, so give it time. John, thanks for giving a view from the recipients side, it is always helpful to know how you guys feel also. Hugs to all, Janet
