I'm beginning the testing process to be a kidney donor. My husband is not in favor of my donating, saying I am endangering my health.
I'd like feedback from those of you who have been a kidney donor. Some of my questions are:
1. Were you in good health when you donated?
2. How old were you when you donated?
3. Did you have laporoscopic removal or traditional full-blown surgery?
4. How long were you hospitalized?
5. What tips would you offer me during hospitalization?
6. How long before you felt able to return to work (what kind of work)? (I have a pretty sedentary secretarial job.)
7. Did you donate to someone you knew or to a stranger?
8. How is your lifestyle different now as compared to prior to donation?
9. Do you regret having donated?
