Yesterday, while socializing the pup, trio on short leads- ( busy, busy area- a village where there are many walkers, tots, dogs, street cafes) we've finished a mile or more walk (very pleased with pup's developing sense of confidence btw) here comes a lady with an apoo of some sort on a freaking extended flexi lead. I am loading trio into car. Easy as they have a routine and order- never a problem. Anyway the woman is NOT paying attention to her dog at all. Instead she is looking at our trio loading into the car with precision and calm. Right. Her dog comes over and makes the attempt to be number four dog into our car. ROFL The poor little apoo could have broken a leg, gotten into a dreadful fight with three strange dogs- or been run over in the busy traffic. All was well- I got the apoo's lead (like holding barbed wire- and dangerous to my hand as the thin lead stung and wrapped around my hand)- all the while I'm holding the leads of my three dogs, the car door open and cars flying by. Did the lady say "pardon" or "sorry"? Nope. What she said was "How do you get your dogs to do that?" Answer- short leads, o-training. I detest flexis- and even more the people who use them on defenseless untrained puppies. Her dog could not have been more than four months old- and ir knew zippo de doo dah with no idea about at heel. Awl righty then. Four dogs getting into my car when I have only three dogs - typical flexi lead/dog owner not paying attention snafu- imho A miracle my dog aggressive Pom did not remove parts of the instantly appearing baby apoo.
