I do have a flexi for Roo to go potty on at our house. I tried a long line, but it gets caught up on things too easily. However, I always keep him in close as we go out the door and until I take a look around and make the neighbors' dogs are not out nor any loose dogs. We have a ton of stray cats but my dogs don't mind cats. Where we walk here is in parks with paths and lots of people. No more than a 6 ft lead in that situation. I do not recommend flexi's to people because very few people use them correctly. Seeing a flexi attached to a gentle leader is a huge annoyance of mine.
