Alpha theory is not an accurate model of our interactions with our dogs. Dogs do not think we are other dogs. We have a mixed pack of people and dogs. Leadership is better displayed by a control of resources (you provide the fun toys, games, and food) than controlling space. Constantly correcting our pets, be it a verbal correction or otherwise), it unnecessary when we have such wonderful ways to interact with our dogs using positive, motivational methods. I highly suggest you do some reading and find out just how dogs learn and view their world.
