as in "Nobody puts Baby in a corner...." I've tried just about everything. Mill dog. Can't be more than a year old, teeth are brilliant white - that new, just-grown-in white. Healthy. Lower jaw is small, didn't grow with the rest of her, she's a little "sharky". Won't take treats. Tried every tasty morsel I could think of. Won't eat if I'm in the room - not even the bits of salami I dropped into her crate when I had her in there. Won't pass within 6 feet of me to go out with the other dogs, unless I turn my back and pretend to be doing something else. (Though this has been improving the last couple of weeks, she actually ran right across my feet the other day.)
Got one more trick up my sleeve and will be pulling that out and using it as soon as I have the heart to catch her and attach a "leash" - making her sleep in bed with me and the cuddledogs (my own pair of mill-rescue 'Tzus, the Toy Otterhound (Dachsie/Shih Tzu/Chi mix, looks like a shrunken Otterhound), and the senior Setter). I did this with one other very timid mill rescue - wrapped the leash around my wrist so she couldn't get off the bed and was forced to be in close proximity to me, while being comforted by being surrounded by dogs she trusted. It took several months, but she finally started checking me out while I was unconscious, and then finally let me pet her but only when I was horizontal in the bed. Then kisses, then pets when I sat up. Slow, slow going. Bet it takes a year to get this one even close to adoptable.
