Weve had our sheltie for about 2 years now and she lives with us, a family of four, plus our golden retriever (about 5) and our cat (about 9). Our sheltie is three years old. Recently, we came back from a vacation in colorado. the animals had been boarded at our local groomers for about a week and a half. since we brought them home, our sheltie has been exhibiting increasing aggressive behaviour toward our golden. i have no idea what could cause this besides dominance issues or something that might have happened at the groomers. they used to play nicely around the house and outside, jumping around and playfully nipping at each other. but lately whenever they get close our sheltie leaps at the goldens face and attacks her. the golden will fight back after a few stunned seconds, but by then weve usual managed to seperate them. we are shocked to see that our little playful sheltie has turned so mean and aggressive and are considering finding a new home for her if this doesnt stop. please help us to figure out what couldve turned her like this.
