My sister ended up taking Eddie to the vet today. She explained everything and he did a check over on him.
His anals were full, and one was infected. He said THAT right there could make him crabby & mopey.
He also asked her how he has been eating and she said he is ravenous ALL the time, and even takes treats like he is starving to death. He said he may have colitis, and that would cause what he eats to not be digested properly, and that would make him act like he is starving. And THAT could be why he grrr'd at her while he was eating. He just wanted to get food in his belly and not be bothered.
She said he has been having some on and off diarrhea too, and the vet said the colitis could be causing that too.
Could he have gotten that from eating calf poo at my house???
She also asked about the staring, and he said it could be mini seizures, and to keep an eye on him for more of it.
So home they went with antibiotics for the anal gland and colitis. She really hopes (as do I ) that this is what is making him crabby.
