They have had the other dog since he was a pup...3 or 4 years, I can remember how old he is. And they have had this one since he was about 5 months old. The reason I asked about him being to old to "be bossy" is I automatically think of being "a teen" and trying to push and be bossy, but at 6 I would think he was past that. But I suppose that they can keep trying at any time to see if it will work "this time"
