Tofi had her ultrasound done this morning - the vet who did the ultra sound said that there was nothing wrong with her digestive system - not even any thickening of the lining - and he did not see any indication of cancer! Whoo Hoo!!
He said that the results, particularly liquid stool in the bowel, were consistant with food allergies - which we all know is a big problem with Tofi.
So with that report in mind, and the fact that I've run out of ideas for home cooked meals, the vet recommended venison and potato by Royal Canin. I'm heartened by this - Dirk is on Royal Canin chicken and he is doing well on it.
We're doing an antibiotic for possible bacterial over growth, a wormer, which I'll start gradually, and I got more nausea and pain meds.
And a Hannibel Lector muzzle. The vet said I had to be absolutely sure Tofi didn't go out into the backyard and eat stuff she's allergic to like blades of grass or cat poop - she doesn't usually eat stuff like this but she's just finished a course of steroids and she's hungry.
I'm so relieved. I thought sure I was going to have to put her down. It was well worth the $$$ to put my mind at ease. And she loves the new food :o)
