Well the kids and I, and my friend G, headed down to Oregon for "Christmas" last weekend. Tofi and Dirk were the perfect house guests. I was concerned Tofi would be a nervous wreck but I put a diaper on her in case of piddle nerves and she was fine. Though she never ever let me out of her sight - she didn't want to risk being left behind or anything.
I took Tofi to a new vet, recommened by a vet tech who really likes this vet, and we determined, after tests, Tofi has no parasites (no Giardia anyway) and her blood work is great - except for a slightly elevated liver enzyme - could be from an irritated GI tract.
So it boils down to allergies being the prime suspect at this point for Tofi's tummy problems (or maybe something more serious like cancer at an early stage but we're not going there except the vet suggested a couple of xrays to see if anything odd showed up like a tumor, or??? Vet said she had a kitty doing poorly and after an xray found he had eaten a rock. Go figure.)
Not much has changed - Tofi still needs frequent feedings and I'm still cooking chicken, rice, carrots, and green beans for her. Plus calcium and vitamins. Pepcid AC and Benadryl. I'm hiring someone to come in and feed Tofi mid afternoon for the days I'm in Seattle.
At least she's happy and her appetite is good :o) What more could you ask for?
