But you appear to be asking questions about two different things.
When you talk about "organizations", I get the feeling that what you're really asking is "What performance events will be available for me and my pup to participate in, and what organizing bodies do these various performance events operate under?"
So for that, you'd have all the various things offered by AKC for example - such as Obedience, Tracking, Rally-O, Agility, and so on.
Then let's take Agility. In addition to the AKC, there are two or three other major organizations that also offer their own Agility titles and competitions (something like USDAA and another one - I don't do Agility, so I don't remember).
Then there are some up and coming venues such as Freestyle which is essentially dancing with your dog. I believe there are two main organizations that offer venues for Freestyle.
And you also have Flyball and scent hurdles - both of which I believe operate under their own organizations.
I'm sure there are more - those are just the ones that come to me right off the top of my head.
Now as to HOW you train for any one of those venues - that's a different sort of question. I tend to favor clicker training, but there are other choices as well. Hopefully, though, you'll select a training method that focuses more on rewarding the positive than it does on punishing the negative.
How's that for starters?
