I havent posted here in quite awhile but am looking for some input.
I have a 5yr old female black lab, Abbey. On Wednesday I noticed she wasnt eating all of her food, which she normally gobbles down. Thursday and Friday she ate nothing and seemed lathargic. No energy, she is usually a big barker when someone comes to the door but she just seemed like she didnt care. I called the vet and they saw her on Saturday morning. Said she had a temp of 104 but they could not find anything obvious so they took blood and we are waiting for the results to see if anything shows up. They gave her an injection of cerenia and sent me home with 4 very expensive pills to hopefully help with any nausia she might have and so hopefully she will eat. Well here we are, Sunday night and she STILL isnt eating! I have gotten her to eat a small amount of turkey, a few licks of yougart and a few licks of cottage cheese. She turns away from everything else..even american cheese which is her favorite treat! She is drinking a small amount of water. While at the vet Saturday we noticed she had some very stinky gas. And today while outside with her, I saw her go potty and it was some very gooey, slimey diaheria. Do you think this could be whip worms? I have no experince with worms in a dog and have no idea how they get them or how easy they are to get but we did kennel her for 8 days the first week of August while we were on vacation.
TIA for any info or input! I am really worried about her and very frustrated with my vet right now!
