1. if possible have your dog greet the pup a couple times on neutral territory
2. make sure the adult dog has a place to escape the pup
3. allow the adule dog to set limits for the pup, I do not worry about grumbling, growling, walking away and even a quick snap AS LONG AS the adult dog backs off and leaves after disciplining the pup. I WORRY when the pup does not stop after being told off and/or the adult does not stop after the pup backs off.
4. After an adult dog discipline then step in and do a few sits and downs or other work with each to resestablish you as head of house
5. feed puppy crated and not with adult dog
6. give adult dog one on one attention
7. if your adult dog is going to stay as head based on behavior, give that dog attention first, food first, etc. if adult dogs seems to be willing to let pup take lead as pup matures, then address that and swiych to younger dog getting things first
8. make sure each gets time away from the other - pup may learn to rely too much on adult for confidence and when adult is not there, could have issues.
This should get you started
