Sorry I haven't been back to update you but I had to move out of my mother's house & back into my own because Winston became incontinent and she has a male that was marking after him. Also spent countless visits and thousands of dollars at 3 different vets trying to get a diagnosis to no avail. Have become very enlightened & disgruntled with my vet (another huge story in itself) and have now chosen another in the middle of an illness- not usually a good time but had no choice as the vet was doing more harm than good. What a nightmare! Setting a visit up with Cornell tomorrow as I believe my boy is fading away and I have no time left to waste waiting for anymore test results. Whatever it is, it probably is not good as we have pretty much ruled out everything "fixable". I'm thinking it is his prostrate. He still has a bladder full of blood and is straining terribly to have a bowel movement. Yesterday after work, I found him lethargic and he did not want to get up even for food or to try to go out (he had been doing so every hour or 2 for weeks now). I thought I would lose him so I dragged him along on a blanket to the living room and laid there with him on the floor as he would have done for me. Then I bribed him with some chicken noodle soup and he got up. Today he still is not his usual but seems to have improved from yesterday slightly. I just want a diagnosis so I'm not left wondering if there was anything more that I could do for him. Cross your fingers that if my boy does die that he does not have to suffer any more than he already is.
